Last bit went well wrote it up here:

I followed the canal from Toulouse towards Bordeaux then headed up along quiet roads. I stumbled across a cycle route that took me from Parthanay to Saumur and then followed the Loire to Tours where I got a train to Caen, a ferry to Portsmouth and met up with a bunch of mates for the cycle back to my mum's house...

Cycling/wild camping in cold weather is pretty reasonable really. I didn't bother to do the long days I had planned as cycling in the dark gets boring after a while. Reading this made me think it wasn't cold at all really... thanks for the advice and moral support everyone!

What do you mean? I told you not to do it and that you were a nutter!!

Seriously though, well done. I lived in the Pyrenees for a year so have a bit of a soft spot for them. I am very impressed, and really like your [ic of snowy roadside camping!

Great stuff

Heading west to prolong the agony has got to score fairly high on the nutter scale.

...and job hunting is quite depressing too.

I had imagined that there might be good reasons for not being in too much of a hurry to be back - even if the alternative was b@stard cold. Good luck with the job hunting.
