Baby wipes ladies - they work a treat. Nice to see you all like the 'natural look' - it's a bit much seeing ladies with 10 tonnes of plaster first thing in the morning, and perfect hair - they are the type that go to a gym to chat.....

so do you non helmeters cycle on busy roads?

yes I live in Manchester, cycle on big main roads and dual carriage ways, even on a motorway once but that was an accident. really hate wearing a helmet but I do worry if I think about it, will probably wear one when I get my road/racer bike and go faster with those skinny wheels on dodgy roads.

So those of you who don't shower, do you or don't you wear a helmet and what does your hair look like when you get there.

I wear a helmet and my hair looks OK, but then I usually let it do its own thing anyway as I'm useless at blow drying it and it looks better with a bit of natural wave.

my bright red and yellow one emblazoned with "Caution Hill Slug".

Pictures please... I'm not sure I'd want it in red and yellow but its sounds like a T-shirt I could wear:biggrin: - I have the right credentials.

I have helmet - as otherwise my hair gets in my face. And luckily I don't have to look ultra neat - cos that isn't me.

I cycled in today yipee. Much much easier going to run out of gears soon, hardly on the small one even up the hills. Less beetroot in appearance but still had shower. No helmet on the paths through to the main road then put it on. The main thing is I feel so much brighter sat up my desk - hopefully some of the weight will shift too now!

Have a nice day everyone.

Gah, I need that logo for my 'bent! 30kg of bike plus work gear makes me very slow uphill. OTOH going down the other side, I'm as much faster again as a tandem is over a road bike.

Willow - don't worry about it. I have BRIGHT RED cheeks all the time. I could replace Noddy at the drop of a hat.

Often get strangers in Morrison's asking me if I'm 'alright' with most people thinking I'm a raving alki. It doesn't really get any worse on the bike, in fact, it's less noticeable because the rest of my face/neck has matched the cheeks :becool:. When I've had a wash etc, I cool down and then apply some cover up.

There is cover up make-up you can get but in your situation, I wouldn't bother because the blood flow is temporary and will die down. At the end of the day, you LOOK (and I assume FEEL) healthy!!!

yep except had to come by car today as have meeting after work which meant borrowing favours for child care and as a consequence boys can't cycle. Annoying on a lovely morning.
