Welcome, and what a nice bike you have. A tip for clipless is to pedal with your right leg,resting the left foot on the pedeal,once your moving and away from a junction "feel" for the left foot and engage into the pedal. It will become second nature in no time.
When you need to stop or think a possible stop is imminent,then always unclip the same foot (again it's usually the left).

This is on the assumption your are right handed/footed of course :-)



The clipless moment comes when you stop unexpectedly, and forget all of the above. It will happen once, and once you have been baptised .... A road cyclist you will have been born :-)

I've been reading tips etc for yonks now. Been practicing in the living room.

Right foot is staying in, left coming out. Seems quite simple.... Famous last words lol.
