Cheers for the link gavintc - I knew about that incident, I thought it was something else, in and around South Africa.

I know / have known a few people who've worked/lived in and around various African nations over the years, Egypt, Nigeria, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Algeria, Somalia and SA - and I think it's all about ready to kick off.
The whole continent is unhappy with the national boundries drawn up by the European nations(+ others probably). Because natural resources are so valuable now, they feel it's been a lottery. China and India are spending billions buying up land and property etc, etc. That discussions for another thread, I think?

I just think it's a tad unsafe for any number of Europeans(or other nationals) to decend en masse to the continent - like I said, I hope I'm wrong.

Oh no - not those idiots with the little In-Ger-Land flags fixed to their cars. again.

I predict - (assuming England have qualified -which shows my depth on the subject)
We will play crap in the group stages but scrape through to the next round.
We will then play some country you never knew played football and win - The flags will then go on all the cars and Frank Skinner will be wheeled out.
We will then get knocked out by a country we dont like in a controversial way with them either cheating or the ref not seeing something that the other 20 million fans saw.
The whole thing will become a farce with the final stages being settled by penalty shoot outs while we decide we would have beaten them 2-0 if we had got through.
All the programmes I watch will be moved or cancelled for a month.

'tis my understanding of it as well
