Her highest rated work was the French New Wave movie Contempt, which I ( and many others) have never seen. A movie about a writer on a film set where she is the writer's wife who favours the rich, powerful producer over her weak servile husband.

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.
The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft interred with their bones;
So let it be with Caesar.

It’s interesting how some people are whitewashed after death. Some people who did great things but were flawed and did some harm too. The myth machine can take over about their almost perfection in every aspect. Thinking Churchill, Princess Diana, JFK for example.

I suspect we all agree on the following; she clearly had some admirable views on animal cruelty, and some terrible views on many tranches of humanity (and was a cinematic icon!).
The following view might be unpopular (outside of France and Accrington):

She did a lot of good for animals, whilst;
her racist/homophobic ranting likely did negligible harm, and she received due punishment from the courts.

I doubt she incited* any racist hatred, as she had little reach and most of her audience were either embarassed, or just caused some nodding from fellow racists.

*Encourage? Perhaps.
Intention to stir up? We don't know - that's for the courts to decide, which they did.
It isn't illegal to simply be racist - at least not in France or UK.

Semantics! I hear being cried already. Yes, well the specific meaning of words is quite important in these issues...

I have to disagree she was married to one of Le Pen’s hopo’s She was prosecuted so many times, the prosecutor was losing the will to live. Google it.
She also called out women who said they had been sexually assaulted whilst working in the film industry saying every women flirts to get a foot on the stage. No great loss to humanity.

She was convicted in a court (more than once) for inciting racial hatred. I’d go with their judgement over yours or mine.

To anyone who might be interested, BB's funeral will be on January 7th in Saint Tropez.

No doubt there'll be a very big turn out, not only from right thinking politicians, but from animal rights supporters and just those who just liked her compassion for defenceless animals! She has been mentioned on many pages posted on Facebook, by animal rights activist, supporters etc. Her death has been a big loss to such folk.
