Raceguard Pro - XL or normal?

Hi, I am looking to put raceguards on my Planet X Pro Carbon. I never use larger than 25mm tires, and wonder if the normal (non XL) size leaves plenty of clearance at the top end of its range - anyone have any experience with them on 25mm tires?

A friend of mine has just fitted the Raceguard XL and, on his cannondale Synapse with 25mm tires, they look larger than needed, so I'm inclined to go for the normal size, but will see if anyone has any advice on this.

Have you got a link to the guards you are looking at?

I would think the normal size would be fine. I had Raceblade Longs squeezed onto my old Ribble 653, by squeezed I mean less than 2-3mm of clearance to the tyres. Newer bikes have more clearance.

I appreciate Vicksters' point about actual sizes do differ, but on balance I think I'll go for the normal ones.
