I didn't suggest for a minute that there wouldn't be a pay off for the band; of course there will be and in my opinion, rightly so. I don't suppose they'd go hungry if everyone decided to pay the minimum (40p I think), but then they'll also have received very good advice to suggest how unlikely that is.
I'm not really sure what your point is beyond that, since I haven't seen any statements from the band suggesting that what they've done with this album is designed to smash the system, give things away for free or make a point about the evils of the music industry.
