rainbow jersey question

It struck me that the hoops on the Rainbow Jersey share the same colours as the Olympic rings. Is this just a coincidence?

The colours are in a slightly different order.

Rings - Blue, Yellow, Black, Green, Red
Hoops - Blue, Red, Black, Yellow, Green

Oh and by the way, a bit like the words Government and Column, Antarctica is spelt with a letter people forget about, as AtarCtica...... Unless you are North American, in which case it becomes Anaarrica.

Designed by a male of the species who, it has been proven, can only recognise five colours (including black). Orange, for instance, is a fruit rather than a colour, and magnolia is, apparently, a tree.

I have no idea what taupe is.
