Designed by a male of the species who, it has been proven, can only recognise five colours (including black). Orange, for instance, is a fruit rather than a colour, and magnolia is, apparently, a tree.

I have no idea what taupe is.

the colours were those used in the flags of the nations who sent teams. Lesotho was still a twinkle in the eye of Basutoland. Vexillologists still use the basic six colours for their own flag
