I don't think the raleigh will be a bad bike...not by a long chalk. There are better, but are they priced as well ?
You get Tiagra, no problems there, decent saddle, alloy frame, carbon fork...its all there.

Put it this way...we all know the reputation of older raleigh bikes, well made, last forever...well i got a Raleigh Chimera with Sora gears a few years ago, the forerunner to the Airlite, but chro mo framed, not alloy. Same geometry i think. It was a heavy bugger, but i did circa 6000 miles on it, for me it was a great value bike that needed very very little maintenance in that time) Wheels were rock solid (IIRC they were Rigida rims as well).

If nothings changed too much quality wise, i think it should be a good bike at that price point.

That's inconvenient. Personally, I won't buy anything online without the protection of a Credit Card, been cloned before, easy to get a CC cleared before it has to be paid, no so much with cash and current account  Paypal is just about ok, but been ripped off on Fleabay once and PP did nothing

Plenty of interest free credit cards out there now, Tesco, M&S ... not that I am encouraging anyone to get into debt!

I may put my ocr giant up for sale. It needs some new tape on the bars but I should be able to get a little bit for it.
