Agree he is an arse*ole a lot of the time, but in his defence he knows what he is doing and does instil discipline, order and puts the restaurant back on track, most of the time it's the arrogance of the others. Thinking about it most chefs are like him (Used to be sous chef of a certain restaurant many moons ago) and have to be in order to achieve their "perfection", but also he is on telly and I am sure he plays up being a total ars*hole

Ah, took me a while to catch on what the thread was about. So, another 'celeb' been caught putting it about eh. Don't like the man personally, his shows or the way he behaves on screen.

Mrs R worked in his restaurant meeting and greeting customers many years ago,he was hitting staff and verbally abusing staff on a regular basis.Mrs R had a massive fall out with him and she walked out, when she went back to get her wages he wouldnt pay her,Mrs R is not a person to mess with! she went back in the evening when the restaurant was full and started making a scene. He said to the Maitre D "give the bitch her money and get her out of here".I would have happily put a brick through his window,he is a peanut

OT: I wonder why there is a need felt to write "peanut" instead of "peanut" (see title of thread). The American version is no more polite. Both refer to the rectum i.e. the thing used for defecation, so why not stick to the British spelling? (Obviously if the OP is written by a yank then this does not apply.)
