Hi Chatterers:
I'm resurrecting this old thread just to give an update on my condition. I hope Shaun won't mind my linking to
the story (based on the original account I gave in this thread, three-years-ago) on the accident and my present outlook.
During my convalescence, it was great to meet a couple of Cycle Chat habitués who stopped in to see me while on tour in Canada. Hope you are doing well, Helen and Dylan.
I'm just now starting to do a bit of riding, though I'm left with permanent disability and chronic pain in the affected ankle, not to mention aches and pains from the weird gait I'm left with. As a result, I haven't had much in the way of cycling to report, but maintaining VeloWeb and social media relationships sure helped along the way.
I had three surgeries in all, with one to attend to a bone infection (and follow up treatment) being the most trying.
Thanks again to all the people here who helped me through a difficult time. Much appreciated.
Ride on.
