Can dead bodies get sunburn?

Just reading a fictional book based round the Tsunami in Thailand a few years ago and in it, they talk about the dead bodies lying around getting sunburn. Which made me wonder if that's actually possible. Can dead skin get sunburnt or do you need to be alive for that to happen?

Not that it matters, but I just want to know!
