I tend to use the drop on the fixie more than on the road bike, as, for 1, theres no brake hoods on the fixie to grab on to and 2, I have the bars slightly higher so its comfortable on any position. I can also pull away a lot quicker from start when on the drops on the fixie too. Same applies with the tourer and the bars being slightly higher to enable an all-round variation.

I never use the drops. It puts me in too low a position. I say never, every now and again, I use them for 30 seconds just to remind myself why I never use them

I'm sure I remember seeing handlebars on your bike and aren't they higher than Arallsopp's?

You're right, Arallsopp's are lower, but considerably less aerodynamic. They are the equivalent of butterfly bars. My handlebars aren't, it's called a tiller.

I do most of my mileage on a fixed with bullhorns, Pearson call them Courier Bars, so no drops whilst commuting. My geared bike does have drops on it, they only get used down hill, I've got short arms so I'm not comfortable down on the drops, even on my Verenti which has a high front end.

I might use my drops for 30 seconds of out my 1 hour ride, when I am going down the steepest hill trying for another personal world land speed record.

I used to use mine quite a lot on my road bike, but then I didn't have the seat too high like a lot of roadies do, so I found it quite comfortable.
