Ranking of Shimano Alfine

Where do Shimano Alfine (11 gear internal hub) rank amongst the other Shimano gear with deraileur? There is a ranking list for Shimano with deraileur but where do it stands if the hub is in the mix, forget about all others components (shifters, etc), just comparing its hub against the efficiency of the respective casettes.

There are too many other variables to be able to make a direct comparison, IMO.

For instance, they are heavier than derailleurs, generally, and I think there are efficiency losses in the hub gears, but then derailleurs lose out when the chain-line isn't kept straight.

Alfine is classed as 'premium'. My Alfine 8 feels as good as the Deore LX / Tiagra that I have on other bikes. I reckon Alfine 11 will be XT or 105 equivalent.
