I'm a 7 .... I agree with most of the posts on the race but that would give it a 6 I think . There was more good stages than bad . GC fight simply didn't occur .

There was something life affirming about this edition . Felt like a story .

I can't put my finger on it . It started in a cloud of vague gloomy despair. Mainly from.global events I think . And evolved into something of character that was shared . You saw the riders grow as people .

Weird I know 7 out of 10

Below par 4 for me. There was very little jeopardy anywhere. If one of the big 2 turns up without the other the GC will be a no contest but it felt like every uphill finish was Jonas, sprints were Magnier and punchy stuff Narvaez. The best action was often early in a stage, other than that the main battle was for the minor podium places.

I may have been a bit harsh as there were a couple of decent stages and Eulalio fighting to stay in pink then to stay in white was a highlight. I found I had it on most days but rarely got invested in it.

My condolences to you. A light hearted memory of my Dad to lighten the mood?
After coming home from a 25 mile training cycle in the 80s he asked "Why don't you enter that Tour de France?" He was serious. 😂😂😂

My dad praised me when I won the club junior TT championship. Saying although he has won several motorbike racing trophies he had never won anything under his own power!

Forgotten the Indurain years?
Much maligned imo. 94 was great because he had to respond to Pantani. 95 he did some cracking rides. This Giro had the same 1-2-3 on pretty much every mountain top finish. It was incredibly dull and only salvaged by the Dolomites looking utterly spectacular.

Lol. 2004 giro petacchi won 9 sprint stages . Serge Gonchar came 2nd on GC ( hint he was a 3000,kg tester. A gorilla 🦍 on a bike 60t chain ring )

It was a doozy. The 2012 Giro was little better, then there’s the 2002 TDF.
I know I haven’t watched enough of this Giro to vote, but what I have seen hasn’t been as bad as those turkeys.

I wonder if the low interest rate is due to a lack of UK riders? We were spoiled during the Sky years.
Probably would have held more interest if Yates had remained.

Let's not forget 2006 when Basso won by about a day and a half from a 75kg 'climber' known as the buffalo. A rising doping tide may have lifted all boats but it didn't make for great racing.
