I've just been for a stroll around my town and spotted this Toyota. I think it's a 1997 plate. I love the colour, which is like a dark lilac, if such a colour/shade exists. I'm seeing quite a few 1990's Toyotas about these days. They seem to be popular with take-away delivery drivers. This one is the best preserved one I've seen! What do you reckon to it?

I'd prefer the original or the series after this. This one rather lost the plot

We had a Mk1 MR2 for a few years - the pop-up headlamp version. Not massively practical, but huge fun to drive. They got a bit bloated and refined after that, a bit like the MX-5 did.

There's no accounting for taste! For me, this was easily the best-looking MR2.

(and possibly the best-looking "affordable" sports car in many years, ignoring convertibles of course. Reliable too.)

I would agree. Never really liked the styling of the original.
