Replace these bits:

• Chainset FSA Gossamer, BB30, 50/34
• Bottom Bracket FSA BB30
• RS11 Wheels

Avoid anything with FSA Gossamer and FSA BB - they're crap.
The wheelset is a sub-£100 heap of cheese.

So they've put wheels you'd expect to see on a 500 to 1000 quid bike on a £1850 bike?

I've got those wheels on my winter bike. They are fine, like the other poster says they are cheap, I paid less than £60 for mine new. That's what you get on most new bikes, cheap wheels, my friend bought a Willier for £2000 which had the same wheels, I've had problems in the past with bb30 but I know plenty of people who haven't .
You spend more time looking at new bikes than me by the way.

I'm not expert but my mate mentioned much the same thing about his Cannondale. Great bike, could have better wheels.

Horizontal top-tubes are a good thing in my book. There aren't many modern bikes which have them.

Surely that depends on the total cost? A £1000 bike with £500 spent on new parts is a £1500 bike (well, probably £1400 by the time you've sold the parts). If it's worth £1400 to you then it's a good deal.

Shop around. The one you are looking at is a 2014 model with the 'old' 105 5700 Shimano groups (or bits of it!). Evans have 2015 models with the latest 105 5800 group set for a similar price.

As the previous posts have said, savings will be made in the area of wheels in particular but that is an easy enough upgrade in the future.

I have to say, the bike looks ok, but if buying a new bike now, I'd want an 11 speed groupset on my new bike

But it's a decent price if such things don't worry you. However, didn't you get into a tis with an LBS that sold you a bike without a triple? 12-27 isn't exactly a cassette for those not so fond of hills. But then again that's a racy road bike not an all day tourer for hilly rides

As much as I love a bargain, a reduced bike is only a bargain if it's the right bike. It's a 2014 model, it's being sold at that price because the retailer needs to recoup its funds and make space for new models

The 2014 does look much better than the 2015 though IMO

I think the wheels will be fine, I find little difference between wheelsets, cheap or expensive, unless your paying serious cash for an ultra lightweight wheelset I wouldn't worry.

I've given up on triple cassettes. I had a 12-27 cassette fitted on the "dodgy"bike i was sold and i've got used to it.
