With a car with suspect glow plugs you can always turn the key until the pigtail light goes out and then turn key back and do it again so the glowplugs fire twice.

That depends very much on the car these days. On my D5 the "computer says no" if I try that and i don't get a second round of glow most of the time . Having said that, its Scandinaviaiandhvnanfn so always starts on the button.

The first sign of a bit of cold and that effing #@~!! of mine didn't start today! Yes, i know it might be the battery, it might be the starting system blah blah blah, but i've had enough of effing poor starter diesel!!!!! I've only ever had 2 diesels and both were(are) crap at firing up in cold/damp weather. I've seen the above. I love the colour!!! Is it worth it?🤔

If you buy a Skoda you can pretty much guarantee that your car will start, will get you reliably to wherever you need to get to for the next few years in comfort and reasonable economy, will carry people and stuff, and will have heating that will actually keep you warm in those dark Lancashire winters. Come on Accy, get yourself a something sane, you can get a pearler of a Fabia for about 4k.

I'm not driving a Skoda! My uncle got a new one every 2 years in the 1970's. Yes, i know they've improved a lot, but just the name alone puts me off. Funny that, as i've only ever had one Vauxhall and that was a 1969 Viva i had in the early 80's.There's something about the name Vauxhall that puts me right off as well!🤔

The dealer would probably give me £1000 for mine and sell it for £1995. It's a bit boring looks wise, but i had a 1996 Micra and it was a decent very reliable car.

Well at least it doesn't have an MOT list as long as the MX5, described by the same dealer as being in very good condition.
The MOT and VED have expired so presumably the dealer is going to sort that.

Last MOT:
Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories):

• Front Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement front mount both sides (5.3.4 (a) (i))
• Front Tyre slightly damaged/cracking or perishing both perished (5.2.3 (d) (ii))

The first advisory was there since the 2019 test, so unless it's been sorted since, it's had 14000 miles to deteriorate further.

Seems to be a lot of cracking / perished tyres. Mine were dreadful on its last MOT. Possibly due to sitting too long going nowhere during lockdown?
