Could this one be dodgy? It's a private sale and Cat S. Hence the price, with the seller saying it'd be £7,000 if it wasn't a Cat S car.🤔

That is an avoid as it sounds like it's not been repaired properly.

That's so true, and a bad back (broke my pelvis & hip in January). Oh and to go for the full old fogey version, it's automatic and has a bed in it !

Having a vehicle with a kitchen, sofa, bed and night heater makes travel so hassle free. Nothing like reclining and enjoying a brew in the back when the motorway is at a standstill because some chump couldn't drive in a straight line.

It might be back on, as in me buying it! I've been thinking, which is what we're supposed to do after a test drive yes? Maybe I was a bit hasty in dismissing it straight away. I must've looked at umpteen Abarths online, since trying that one. Yes, there are some very, very nice ones, but the cost of most is crazy! I saw one like the one I looked at that had done more miles, had shabby allows, scuffed slightly torn seats, was miles away (OK, that's not the car or owners fault) and was something daft like £10,500 which is £3,150 more than the one I tried. I think the one I tried is in very good nick and low in price compared to most of that year. I've also talked myself round about the car looking more like a '500 Sports' than an Abarth, and I do like that 'Scorpione black' and slightly off white half and half look. I've seen some very nice top of the range Competizione ones, in crazy colours, but costing twice and the rest as much as the one I tried, and maybe they are a bit too boy racer ish for a 65 year old who tends to dress in tweed suits etc. I think the one I tried is more subtle. It's odd having watched quite a few Arbarth test drive videos that many say/think that the sitting position is too high, whereas I felt like I was in a low down sports car when I tried that one out on Tuesday! Maybe if 'Mr seller' hadn't been so impatient, he could've adjusted it for me, or told me the seat can be raised, instead of seeming to think I was time wasting. Why hasn't the car been sold though, I ask?! I thought it would've gone by now! 🤔

They were finniky when new, and years of someone else's thrashing from cold and back street budget servicing wont have made them any less likely to be smoky and rattly by the 50-70k mile mark. You'd have to be an enthusiast with a good toolkit, or a masochist with a lot of spare cash to even consider one. A bundle of sweating gellignite atop a knackered twin tub going flat out would cause less grief.
