Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I hate reality TV of any kind. And soaps. I hate both with a vengeance. Cheap and nasty. My mum watches them and when we talk she asks me if I saw this prog or that. She is always astonished when I say no I haven't seen it. Each to his or her own though. They're just not for me

I used to watch "The Apprentice" when TV Burp was on, so I'd have a frame of reference for Mr Harry's jokes.

I don't watch it any more.

I think that the programmes which genuinely involve learning a skill and having to demonstrate that can be interesting. I used to like Strictly because you could see people making a genuine "journey" or discovering a side of themselves that they never thought existed. It has become a bit of a parody of itself and far too soppy and glitzy so I am less fond of it now, but you can still see people learning and working.

Bakeoff is the same - you see people really applying themselves to a skill, and in some ways it is better because they are all ordinary people.

The Jungle thing is just repellent though and anything like Big Brother - yuck. As for "scripted reality" - made by and for donkeys, frankly. No, that's an insult to donkeys.

Dont watch too much TV, but when I do it's either reality, comedy, documentory or a movie. Of all of these, I actually find reality TV to be far more of a draw. Social science is very quite interesting, dont you know?

There is a programme called Secret Eater which a friend of mine (who is a hypnotherapist working in the area of weight loss and eating disorder) finds absolutely fascinating. It shows the huge gulf between what people think they are eating and what they are actually eating. Then they're always amazed when shown covert footage of them stuffing down burgers on the way home from the shops etc. I feel I've become a bit more vigilant about snacking as a result, and it is extraordinary how much we do which we're unaware of. One woman used to drink 3 whole pints of cider while she prepared dinner, and hadn't realised she ought to include it in her food and drink diary!

I just can't identify with anyone who would go on reality TV. Publicity hungry nobbers; and for what reason? I suppose in some cases they manage to make money out of it by shagging a slebrity and posting it on YouTube, but FFS, when is the novelty of appearing on TV going to wear off for these saddos?
