Please recommend me the best super zoom camera going. Budget is modest: £150-200. It's for travel, not bike (it's a prezzie for someone) so size and weight not critical but but it must be simple to use and reliable. Probably a x20 to x30 zoom would be well adequate. In an ideal world it should be available in white.

Any advice appreciated, ta.

I've got one similar to this....very easy to use, produces great photos, not white though.

Might be a bit pricey unless you can find a really good deal, but the Sony Cyber Shot DSC-HX50V has a fantastic 30x zoom. Although it's compact, there's is a lot manual control available too.

I've got a Panasonic that I used to like but it's the first camera I've had that has got lots of dust in the lens somewhere unreachable. It's getting to the point where I'm going to have to replace rather than spend ages trying to get rid of blemishes on every photo.

Personally id rather concentrate on build quality, speed and images at normal or medium zoom, than putting that kind of budget to a superzoom. i would get a lumix tz35 which is on sale for 130 at the mo so would leave you money for a nice case and a memory card.

mind you the new tz40 is just over 200 quid and has wifi and gps if you want that sort of thing.
