Really wish I had a rear camera now

Spend your money on some video editing software instead. You could have got rid of 3/4 of that!

Assuming he was right on my arse, I'd have given him a bit of space between 1.14 - 1.23, rather than holding my line. I'd rather have an impatient clownshoe in front of me where I can see him.

After you passed that parked car you could have gone back a few feet into the gutter as there was no other parked vehicles just to let the knob head pass. The key is obviously not to ride in the gutter but sometimes you need a bit of discretion to appease ar$eholes like that.

The reason the footage is so long is it is what I submitted to the police so wanted a bit before and after to show that I didn't antagonise him beforehand.

The police? What are you hoping to get from them?

Nothing really, other than Intel on the drivers attitude and maybe a letter to him explaining how his actions were highly inappropriate.

My attitude is 'if I don't report something, I can't complain about the police doing nothing about bad driver's'

A bit like, 'if I don't vote I can't complain about the political party voted in'

That's fair enough, I think we just have different attitudes.

Not sure that I agree with your analogy though. I vote in local elections as there's genuine difference between the candidates. Nationally, they are all a set of self interested c_nts so I really don't see the point. But that's irrelevant!

am upgrading my helmet camera from the Contour HD to the ROAM 2. I plan to have the old camera rear facing, so I get a better quality video than when I use my little £8 rear camera.

Thats the same set up as me

Was the pass at 2:38? If so, it didn't even look all that bad to me

It was the red van, the pass itself was not the issue. I was more angry at the fact he was driving a few feet off my back wheel at 26-27mph!

It was in a 30 limit so no real need to overtake or drive so close. Hence the need for a rear camera.

However, I have taken onboard the comments regarding edging over between passing parked cars to allow impatient drivers past.

I was told that my riding was dangerous and inconsiderate towards motorists. Whilst I can see the point if I were bumbling along at 10mph. But at almost 30mph in a 30 limit I don't want to be passing parked cars close and I need to be out in the lane for cars at junctions to seee clearly.

Although there were a couple of gaps you could have dropped left in to let him past, I don't think they were long enough to do that easily or without considerable braking on your part.

As per comment on the video, I would only bother with something like that because of Roadsafe. The policeman who told you your riding was wrong does need some lessons, IMO.

That was my reasoning behind my positioning. I find that if I move over to let a car past they don't always judge my speed correctly. I have had many times in the past where I've edged over only for the car behind to wait until I'm moving back out to pass the next car or more cars than safe try to pass. This leaves me little choice but to brake hard to get squashed.

Think I should invest in a 'bent' so I can keep up 30mph easier and eliminate most of these encounters.

When speaking to the police officer he said,

Me " I was doing 26mph"
Officer "genuine speed?"
Me "indicated on Speedo and gps"
Officer "well at speeds like that you should be a professional racer"

I felt as if my point wasn't quite getting across.

As for roadsafe mikey, Hampshire don't have something like that in place. Not sure how I could push them to encourage them to set something up.
