Rear cassette question

So, my winter bike is at my folks, so don't have to hand to look at.

It does however need a new cassette; Google tells me that I need an 11-32 8 speed. Rest of drivetrain is Shimano Altus/Alivio...can I use a SRAM 8sp 11-32 cassette?

Yes. SRAM and Shimano cassettes both fit on Shimano freehubs.

As above, perfectly interchangeable.
