Why did you lay your bike down at the side of the road? I'd have rest it directly infront of their car so they they couldn't have driven off, and gone to the driver's window.

Don't think I would risk this as the bike wasn't damaged. If they want to do a runner they might go straight over your bike ;)

I once saw a hit and run driver nudge a scooter out of they way to drive off when he'd just knocked the rider and pillion off!

Definitely report it if you feel like it, but don't let the b*stards get you down

I guess it depends on how busy the local plod are as to whether they'll follow up or not. If there's no damage, no injury and no witnesses then I highly doubt they'll bother with the paperwork. Call me a cynic...

That's not to say that he should get away with it, though!

It doesn't matter too much if they don't do anything. If he does it again and hurts someone all the reports could help to prosecute. If he has done it in the past and someone else has reported it they'll be more likely to act on it.

It's kinda like voting, you don't think it does any bloody good, but if no-one did it we'd be stuck with the BNP or some such ><

It goes through to a call centre anyway when you report, or with my local plod you can do it online.

I'd be tempted to report it. TBH the car could be ringed, not insured and all that sh1t..... etc. Might just spark an alert on the Police database........

To do one from an accident, shows the person is hiding something... most decent folk wouldn't.

I was rear ended earlier this year, minor shunt, but the driver apologised - no damage......and stayed well behind me afterwards.....grrrr
