Just picked up a sceond hand Pearson Touche fixie.

It's making a heck of a metallic noise on the drive side (sounds like the chain rattling) - it appears to be properly engaged and there's no 'lag' between putting pressure on the pedals and getting movement either direction. The wheel also seems properly centered and I've correctly adjusted the chain tension, but it hasn't gone away.

Any ideas?

Cheers

[Update - sussed it].

In case anyone else has the same problem ....

Lifting the back wheel way off the ground to almost vertical and signting along the chain line has revealed that it's a few mm off straight (chainring slightly further in than sprocket). The noise is the sprocket teeth against the inside of the chain as it gets pulled slightly left.

Some 2mm spacers between the chainring and spider ought to sort it.
