Rear light for thule ridelong child seat

Hi all

My old hybrid has been relegated to child transport duties and has a frame mounted Thule Ridealong seat fixed to it.
I'm trying to work out how to attach a rear light to my bike, as my trusty cateye was formerly mounted to a rack, which was removed to fit the child seat.

Thule do an official rear light called the Delight, which is £35 and seems a bit dear. Looking at the instructions, it's bracket glues to the seat and then the light clips on and off that.

Has anyone found a method to mount a cateye light on the Thule seat? Or shall I just go oldskool and mount a light on one of the seatstays?

If you dont remove the seat why not just use one of the generic O-ring mounted one's fixed on the blue handle on the back of it.

Seat stay and mudguard rear lights will do the job. What is the red bit directly below the seat? Plus put some 3M reflective red tape on back of seat if you wish to supplement.

Good old Decathalon. That's a much cheaper solution than the Thule one! (and probably just as good) There's a Decathalon 20 mins walk from me, I'll go investigate later today

I've found an angled bracket (cateye SP11) for a seatstay, so I'll use that to supplement the Decathalon clipon. The red bit below the seat is a reflector at the end of the seat's slidey bakwards and forwards rail. I'll definitely get some more 3m red tape (as you can see I put quite a bit on the seatstays and rear mudguard) and put that on the seat

The blue can move, so it might be a pain to get a consistent angle?

A bit of movement can be a good thing. Mates who drove past me going to work would always say that my helmet light moving side to side and flashing made me more visible.
