Do you mean the order they where they attach to the frame?

How would know which is the correct order?
Shortest stay nearest the saddle, middle length stay under the roller wheel bracket, longest stay under the roller wheel bracket nearest the mud flap.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference but on all our Bromptons the loop at the end of the stays all point towards the hole in the rear triangle.

The kick stand was a temporary measure while I took some photos and is no longer on the bike

well that a sharp edge or something with the hardware might create tension or extra load to to the mudguard seems plausible?

have yet to replace a mudguard after close to 20 years of brompton use. however use is spread over three of them. fold them total three times on a workday commute.

on my 2sp without rack i now and then renew protective tape i have between rear roller and brake.
