Hi,

I've decided to add a rear rack to my brand new Carrera Subway 1. Went into my LBS and bought the rack and then headed home to fit it. Using common sense I assumed that the rack should be horizontal when fitted, and started fitting it as such. However my girlfriend bought a bike from the same LBS last year, they fitted a rack for her but its angled downwards in the direction of the seat post.

I've attached a picture of how I have fitted mine and how my girlfriends is fitted, am I right or has the LBS got it right ?

thanks

Paul

can't say I care for the tilted one although I suppose they're both functional

There both functional and IMO the horizontal one looks better and a lbs fitted my first rack horizontal like yours. There might be a slight advantage to her one that when a pannier is clipped on it'll clear the rider heal better but it still doesn't look as good though
