Rear spacing on the older Dawes Mountain Bikes. Is it 130mm?

I'm trying to find out what the rear spacing is on a Dawes Ranger. I guess it would be the same on a Wildcat.
I'm buying a new rear wheel for my 7 speed Ranger but I'm away from home so can't double check the measurement.

I have an old Dawes MTB which I've measured just now: 135mm. But I'd be wary about buying a wheel without physically measuring the frame/drop outs it needs to fit.

Which just means that if you don't measure you will have a rare hub.

Thanks for your replies, the original wheels are long gone. The new wheel has a Sun Tour XC hub. I think it's an XC pro hub so more than likely 135mm.
