My BTwin came with a small metal frame protector. Yesterday my chain got stuck and it wrenched the protector out of position. I couldn't get it back in position so I took it off.

Question is....are these of any benefit? And if they are, how to reattach clean metal to a carbon frame. And if it's useful but difficult to attach, would any other product do the same job?

Here's the frame protector

And this is where it was attached. You can make out the glue still on the frame (apols for the grubby bike, it's going to get a good clean this morning)

Two part epoxy would be best - just get the 'twin syringe' type - makes the job easy and you can get clear. Evostick will work too, but wont be as strong a bond. It's worth using as it's saved the frame from getting chewed up.

^^^ Wot @fossyant says re the damage that it prevented. Protectors are available in tape, some carbon-patterned, but they are not as strong.
