I use a basic Decathlon one. Seems ok, good value and works fine. Had it for a couple of years. If I was looking to change I would probably go for one integrated into a Garmin or similar
I have a Polar FT1. It works well and doesn't seem to interfere with my Cateye Strada Wireless gadget. It cost about £30 and has all the very basic functions. I didn't buy it to become a cycling God, just to see what my CV system was up to. Seeing your own heart skipping beats in real time is quite fun.
I would recommend polar as well, their after sales support is amazing.
I've just replaced a case on a 8 year old RS200 for £12, shipped the next day.
Go for one with a fabric strap as they are more comfy, heartratemonitors.co.uk has some good information and products, PS you don't need a cycling specific one but zones are usefull.
