Morning all. As thread title really. I have a new rear hub to replace the current one which has damaged bearings. Can anyone recommend a wheel builder local to me? - I'm close to St Alban's.

Thanks Vickster. I'm aware of cycletech but haven't used them myself. Contour are an unknown but I'll investigate.

Thought I'd have a go myself. The old hub was an unbranded Shimano clone and the replacement is genuine Shimano Sora with identical dimensions. The wheel had only seen about 1k miles of use just suffered from hub bearings not being properly greased and/or adjusted when new. By the time I got round to looking at the bearing after a long wet ride rust had caused pitting too bad to polish out.
I just dismantled the wheel and reassembled with the new hub.
All good so far, in that it is true and round but yet to be test ridden.
Quite chuffed as I've never built a wheel before and managed without any special tools apart from a spoke key.

If you've managed to get the dishing right, you should be not just 'quite' but very chuffed with the rebuild.
Thank you kind sir.
Well, I measured the rim to chainstay distances very accurately with internal calipers and just had to progressively tighten the driveside spokes until the measurement was correct (15 mm both sides).
Perhaps I had better save being very chuffed until a decent test ride without the whole thing exploding in a tangled wreck?
