Thing is, unless its easy to replace the permanent battery in a device, said device is only as good for as long as the battery lasts.
But being able to charge your lights anywhere is incredibly convenient.

As I'm into reducing the amount of crap that ends up in a landfill, I did a quick search for a light that can be charged easily, but has a battery that is replaceable.

More expensive than a Cateye, but would most probably last longer, for above reason. Aluminum housing which is nice, 205g vs nearest Cateye equivalent at 200g (for Cateye Amp 1100)

The Bookman lasts longer on a full charge.

I'll be investing in something like the the Bookman, next purchase.

That’s a pretty cool bit of kit. Spendy as you say. Many options with the extra batteries though 👍 *Lots of lights around £80 / being 12-1700 lumens offer the ability to use as a power bank……..

For £60, Inc Next day post, a design I’m used too / happy with: and one that involves no swapping of fitting brackets: I’ll likely get one of these i think:
