Those ones seem to be more spying on people? Maybe I've got that wrong but I want this to be two way when I'm expecting to meet someone, and we have both agreed to it.
Unless T&C's have changed the 1st & 3rd require a message be accepted by the other handset in order for them to work. Person declines the message that's the end of it.

Nearly all tracking apps are built around the same system.

MapMyRide had that capability, i linked my ride to the laptop so my wife could track me, it worked ok as far as i remember, but that was a couple of years ago or so.

Sorry I misread it to mean that you could choose to look up any number and see where they were!

I'm liking the sound of the glimpse one being able to set it on and off when you want so that's the one I'll experiment with first, especially as it sounds as though it's been used by @nickyboy in exactly the sort of situation I want!

Glympse is really easy, you install the app, and tell it to glymse, you have to set a time, the default is 15 mins, but you can extend it to 4 hours, and then keep updating it if you need longer.

You then share the glympse with someone from your contacts, and they get a link they can look at. Alternatively you can create a tag, and anyone who joins it can be seen by anyone with the tag. It sounds more complicated than it is, you really need to play with it for about a half hour or so to get the hang of it.

I didn't have to persuade her, she can see that it could be useful occasionally, though she seemed to think I was likely to use it most with a message saying "running late"

Glympse is great. I sometimes use it if I'm going on a long ride so LocalLass doesn't worry (esp if a night ride)
