Mammut Air Pillow. Nice fleecy outer and packs down small and light. I have one and can recommend it if like me you feel you need a pillow for a good nights sleep.

Poundland sale blow up pillows, I have used one for 2 years now for my backpacking/cycle touring. well worth a pound, emirates ones are ok as well

I've had two of those pillows from the pound shop split on me. But the flight pillows that go round your neck seem to be ok. They come with a set of eye shades from the £1 shop.

Its a constant source of searching for me. The next plan is to sew a 2cm thick piece of foam into an old pillowcase and leave an opening to stuff clothes in to raise the pillow to the correct height. The thinking is that most blow up pillows are actually quite hard in my experience. My wife and I are off on a six month tour in April so you'll have to wait some time I'm afraid for any real life reviews.

Let me know if you find anything... we did a 12 month tour and whilst the exped comfort pillow worked great for my husband, I ditched it very early on and went back to the folded clothing option - didn't even bother with a pillow case, just used my fleece type jacket and a thin merino wool top. On the bright side of things it made going out of the tent for a call of nature much easier because I always knew where my coat was!

I get by putting my clothes in the bag my camping mat stows in.
That's what I do now but it's obviously a very personal thing as that isn't ideal for me. It's not that I don't sleep, just not as well as I would like to. It also seem to be a bit hit and miss. Sometimes my pillow construction skills seem to better than others. Nothing to do with how many pints I've had, obviously.

It is called a 'Boyfriend Pillow' . Apparently they are good for people who want a cuddle, but not the hassle of a relationship

Hell, discovered that those things actually exist.

Why's the boyfriend still wearing a shirt; the type of guy who just rolls up pissed and dives into bed?

2 options the second one is slightly crazy though!
1)karimor do some pillows
2) a really heavy duty big ziplock back i have slept many nights on this both on the ground and in a hammock either stuff with clothes etc or just inflate from moth and zip lock shut
Cheers Ed

I like the various Exped pillows. The regular size is a bit small, and the UL versions are a bit noisy (and are harder to deflate), but a large in the heavier material is a bit heavy. In short: you choose what matters most to you. Between them, they all have the right shape, however.
