I need to protect my hands if I have a fall. I am asking for recommendations for cycling gloves as I havnt any at the moment. My hands tear easily (old age) and need protection. When I was a Biker I always wore gloves because of having a fall but I haven’t a clue what brand is best?
I am looking at a pair of Thousand, brand, cycle gloves but personally recommend would help.

What I wear. Suits me ok:

Summer: Shimano fingerless gloves. I've tried various brands and they're much of a muchness but Shimano branded ones are my favourite. I'm not sure why, I just like them. (Can't find a link to the ones I wear, maybe they don't do them any more)

Winter: I don't wear cycling gloves, I prefer Tegera work gloves. Warm and waterproof-ish. https://www.safetygloves.co.uk/ejendals-tegera-295-waterproof-thermal-work-gloves.html

Autumn/spring: Just some light full finger gloves I got somewhere. Decathlon probably.

Imo any brand will do, as long as they fit you.
I use summer padded mitts.
For winter I have many pair of gloves, some marketed for cycling, others non specific.
The only gloves I bought and actively disliked were Sealskins, a bad fit for my hands and they were not very good at keeping the cold out.
Imo gloves from Aldi when the cycling events are on are fine.

Really depends what sort of glove you want - do you want something thin that just provides another "skin" layer, or do you want lots of padding as well - personally I detest the latter.

Grip Grab do decent fingerless gloves if that appeals to you - the Specialized SL Pro mitts are also very good, I've used them for years.

For full size gloves I've got some seal skins ones which are really good, but looking to get some Endura Humvee gloves this year too. I've also got several sets of Altura night vision as well as some Aldi specials. All of them do the job.

I got some gloves today; they are replacing ones I already have and are the same brand and type I have been using for several years. They are well padded on the palm which I need due to likely Dupuytren’s.

Specialized Body Geometry Dual Gel gloves. I have them in fingerless and long fingered.

The Tegara gloves look great I have bookmarked these.
