Barrafina in Dean st, Soho. Best tapas in London and possibly the world. Easy to rack up £100 a head as you sit at the bar and the lovely cooks talk you through the dish they're about to cook and the wine / sherry to with it. Great relaxed atmosphere, great theatre, incredible food. A real experience. Doesnt even matter if you turn up drenched from a storm off your bike, I did this once, and its fine even though you might be sitting next to someone dead posh.
The reviews speak for themselves.
They do serve pork and indeed you will see other customers pork dishes being cooked before your eyes so if that's a problem it's not for you. However, there are plenty of amazing veggie an fish dishes to try and you'll see the ingredients beautifully presented before they're cooked.
You can't book a seat though so you may have to queue to get your place at the bar.
I've never been in the evening for me tea but the three dinners (ok lunches) are all in the top five best ever food experiences for me and I love my food.
