Show respect to the Tommies of WW1 by soaking dry biscuits in muddy rain water, presented on a board of mud with a dead rat to dunk in the rain water.

Well, write it down boy ......
Get a pack of puff pastry and make some parcels with various fillings. Perhaps cheese and pine nuts, chorizo and cheese, Parma ham and tomato for example. You are only limited by your imagination. Put different slits in the pastry for the different fillings so you know which are which after cooking. They take 15 mins in the oven and look very professional with a bit of salad and balsamic.

Onion gravy, giant Yorkshire puddings and maybe a slice of lamb or beef to go with it.

Typical starter in my family. Absolutely delicious!
