Get a pack of puff pastry and make some parcels with various fillings. Perhaps cheese and pine nuts, chorizo and cheese, Parma ham and tomato for example. You are only limited by your imagination. Put different slits in the pastry for the different fillings so you know which are which after cooking. They take 15 mins in the oven and look very professional with a bit of salad and balsamic.
I like it. What do you think about using filo?

Someone throw this man a rope, it needs to be about 40 years long...

Phew you found the end of the rope....good to have you back....
Don't diss the vol au vent. I have catered many family parties and those little puff pastry baskets are the first to go. Don't pretend you don't go for the vols when the finger food comes round.

Oh no, I'm not dissing the grey parcels and will happily stuff them down my screecher, it's just that wow factor was a requirement and that the first bite is with the eye.
Shape up TVC....you're not still i'll with dulled senses are you?
