Never noticed that! I went to school in Moffat in the 70's, so I know this particular shop well. The Moffat toffee isn't actually like toffee at all, more like a boiled sweet, but well worth a taste. They also sell a wide range of old fashioned sweets which might be of interest to the OP..

For sherbet lemons and rhubarb n custard I can recommend Betty's in Wheatland Lane, Wallasey.
Well, it was great in 1957 when I got my weekly sweets.
