A pint of mixed? Still the staple of a WMC or two around here.

Decent cocktails though? Does a Vodka Red Bull count? ^_^

I like an Old Fashioned, and you can't go wrong with a good Bloody Mary although neither of them are really a full on umbrella wearing cocktails are they?

An Espresso Martini is a good one - and a Long Island Iced Tea should meet the requirement for an alcoholic kick...
Ah yes, Long Island Iced Tea. The quickest way to get hammered in a cocktail bar. I may have tried one or two in the past.

As a couple we have never been "into" cocktails but on our last (A/I) holiday Mrs Dave tried a mojito .......it was disgusting. Strong mint flavour and very sweet.
I do think it was probably cheap A/I cr*p.
In June we are going to Alvor (Portugal) and it seem to have lots of cocktail bars. Trip advisor is full of recommendations for various bars......but what to ask for?
I know the names of some but have no idea what they taste like.
Not too sickly
Decent alcohol content.
Any (serious) suggestions/descriptions welcome (might be asking a lot:rolleyes:)
Thanks

There is only one decent cocktail bar in Alvor and that is Mourisco http://alvormouriscobar.com

We have place in Alvor and always go in for cocktails when we are there. I can recommend the Long Island Ice Tea and SWMBO loves their Porn Star Martini.
If want any tips for places to eat PM me.

When our daughter was 16 we took her and her friend to Ibiza ( her choice ) . At the bar thought I'd embarrass them and order Sex on the beach, but the joke was on me, they said that's our favourite we get that in our local club.
My favourite is a Pina Colada.

For strictly analgesic purposes, a Bloody Mary does take a bit of beating. Probably best not to call on their services too often.

I have only two rules when it comes to cocktails:

1. Avoid anything with milk/cream.
2. Avoid anything with a ‘funny’ name.

I was at a do recently where they were serving Negronis. I may have had a few. Made with gin, vermouth rosso and Campari. Seriously bitter. Very good indeed.

My recollection of the evening is somewhat hazy.
