Recommendations for Bike insurance policy - for UNI

I'd like to get some recommendations for a company to get an insurance policy through for my bike & it's accessories at UNI.

I've looked at Endsleigh, but they seem to be really picky about what brand and lock you use. My lock is made for trek by a company on the list but isn't covered so would have to buy another lock. I've also looked at the CTC insurance which had an estimate of about £55 for a year.

The bike is in a well hidden, underground compound (pin coded) with two locks (or just one D lock at work, which is still hidden inside).

I only need the insurance to last from now to June 12th.

Anyone got any good recommendations for a standalone policy? The home insurance won't cover me when I'm away .

Odd that the home insurance cannot be extended for it, who is that policy with? May save someone else some bother knowing that.

I need an external policy, not with the house insurance.

How much is the bike worth? Tbh I'd thought it might not be worth the premium asked in some circumstances.

Thomas - you're at the UEA? If you're in one of the secure bike compounds, using two locks on the bike, ask yourself as to the real risk of having it stolen from there. My son had no hassles at all with his bikes in such a compund. Where the thefts occur seem to be from those using the 'normal' bike stands, the railings around various bits of the campus, and those who don't actually lock their bikes at all..

The bike will get locked outside the supermarket and within work. Though within work it is in a private room, the room is not locked from the public and there is a fire door at the back.

I've had a bike stolen before, this one is the replacement one. I would not want to have to purchase a brand new one.

I'm sure it won't get stolen, but I'd like a little piece of mind.

Does anyone have any recommendations for insurance companies for a single, bike cover policy?
