I don't think I've ever seen a recumbent that didn't have something essential held on place by a zip tie, and that includes some in showrooms.

Since its last overhaul, I can sincerely advise that I have NO zip ties on the Furai at all.

Instead, I have a little bike shaped key fob that I keep all the spare zip ties on.

Well, I say bike shape, but the silhouette is perhaps more suggestive of a recumbent.

And I say little, but looking again its about 183 cms boom to tail.

The nice thing is that it matches the colour scheme of the Furai perfectly. A lucky coincidence, I'd say.

Well, unless you count "Computers and the wires thereof" as something essential, my Catrike manages without zipties....

my computer manages without wires as well as zip ties! I've occasionally* wondered about how you might rig up a wireless on a recumbent with the distances involved.

*wee small hours on FNRttC sort of meditation.

Since the only wireless computer I ever had was a constant source of woe, I just stick to wired.

Onna trike the answer would be to have the computer sensor mounted on the front wheel. I looked at mounted my wired one on the front, but the Catrike custom mount was silly money, and I didn't have time to talk anyone into machining me one. Fortunately, the long Cateye mounting kit is long enough for my trike.

Interesting Sue. My SMGte (with USS) has standard cateye computer mount, and normal wires. The cadence sensor is a quick nip up the boom from the bars, and the speed is down a tiny fork. If I were in the mind tocut the cables, they'd both be shorter than the upright equivalent.
Wireless seemed to want 'line of sight' though, so never held the signal.
For me, not so much wireless, as wirefewer.

Given that recumbent riders are maladjusted social outcastes with curious facial hair and unmistakable personal hygeine problems, I would have thought the question hardly needed asking?
