Hi all.....

Fancy giving this laid back cycling lark a go, but struggling to find somewhere I could try a trike out, with a view to buy one if I like it

Im in North Devon and Im wondering if anyone knows of somewhere I could get my hands on one to try out.

I don't mind a bit of a drive to find one. I know of the ICE factory in Falmouth and there must be a shop in Bristol.....

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know there are no trike dealers in this part of the world. I went up to Dtek as there are lots to see/try but Fairweather Cycles in Basingstoke stock ICE and have demo as far as I know.

Mine is set up for me so probably won’t fit you but you are welcome to have a look.

Thanks Phil. very kind offer and your not a million miles away either.

I have drawn a blank with everywhere near to me....by Haldon Forest hire them out for £15 a day, and tats only an hours drive away so thats probably my best option.

However it would be nice to talk through the pro's and cons with an experienced owner at some stage if you didn't mind?

Just don't want to spend a grand on something that I end up not liking, so will probably make a few trips to Haldon as I save the money to be sure!!!

...I will point out that I havn't mentioned any of this to the wife as yet....

May I ask how far you ride etc?
At the moment I do 25 to 30 miles max at an average speed of about 12.5 mph. Slower than I could do on an upright but I can’t now ride more than an hour or so on that before pain becomes a problem - hence the purchase of the trike. No doubt you have read elsewhere on this and other forums that it can take quite a while to adjust to the pedalling on a recumbent. Hopefully as the different muscles used become stronger things will improve.
