Cycling home from work today, it was such a nice day I came home 'the long way round'. I was coming into Doncaster down Balby road (a dual carriageway), where the road turns into three lanes, the left lane being a bus lane. There was a bus behind me, but as there was a cyclist about 20 yards ahead going slowly I stayed out to the right of the bus lane. The bus driver (obviously not happy at a bicycle slowing him down) overtook me just as I passed the cyclist and then cut straight in, forcing me to slow down and swerve to the left, fortunately missing the other cyclist.
Needles to say, this upset me somewhat. Had I been thinking rationally, I would have noted his number and reported him, however, as you've probably guessed form the thread title the red mist descended. As I caught the bus at the next red light about 50 yards on (he was now in the middle lane) I rode down his left side and punched his passenger door. I don't know if anyone else has done this, but I hit the door so hard that I veered violently to the left and very very very nearly came off!
So not only did I nearly wipe myself out after nearly been wiped out by the bus, I didn't even note which bus company it was, never mind his number. Lesson learned.
