Red on end of nose.

Anyone else get the tip of their pointy nose red after riding in the sun? Now even mild sun is causing it to flare up. It doesn’t seem to go back to normal. It never used to do that.
Will have to use uv blocker. Could be damage from something hitting me or pressing it in.
I knew a lad who got cancer there and he had to wear a magnetic nose.
I’m trying sudocream but it doesn’t do much. Maybe it needs laser treatment?

If your skin reddens in the sun, yes, applying sunblock would seem a sensible way to go.

And yes, mine does the same, and alas, Mrs T mocks me mercilessly for it. Happily the rest of my physique is so perfect she seems able to forgive this one minor flaw.

Just a thought, see a Dr and get a skin cancer check. You might even be able to send them a photo which they can have assessed by a dermatologist

My dad was a sun worshipper when he was young and he started developing cancerous moles on his head as an old man. Other health problems killed him before the cancer really got a grip.

I burn easily and got badly caught out a few times when I first got back into cycling, so now I avoid spending much time in strong sunlight without protection.

Nose, ears, bald spot on scalp, back of neck and so on - yes! (See above.)

I would definitely get that checked out ASAP - malignant melanoma is no joke.

I do keep a close eye on my moles and make sure there's a good dollop of sun block on them when out on a lengthy ride.
Never been much of a sun bather... my Nordic genes means my 'tan' is red then goes straight back to white. It's not a good look.

I got my mum's Scottish Highlands skin. I burn easily and freckle. I have had one or two iffy-looking moles checked out just in case, but they were ok.

If I am only going out for a couple of hours in the sunshine, I usually wait until later in the day when it is much less fierce.

I seem to recall the fine print says you have to put it on an hour or more before you go out.

There is a condition called Rosacea. It mainly effects women, but not exclusively. Keeping out of the sun stops the flare up

I looked that up but don’t think it’s that. Stuff has hit me in the face before so wonder if it’s linked to that. I used to press it in too maybe some damage & the sun is making it worse.

Erm that should be what you usually do, and not just the nose. Slap the sun cream on and don’t be shy with qty.
