Just make sure you’ve got 6 months/3 months remaining on it (depending on the country you visit). Then it shouldnt be a problem

Not really a problem…..but just need to check that your passport isn’t due to expire soon…..presumably it will apply to the new blue passports too in time - it’s just they are too new to be nearing their expiry date.

Slow news day, you are correct they have always been there, well maybe not always but for a very long time

Eh, this is just the same old passport expiry stuff, that has applied since we left the EU. Nothing new here, old news.

My passport was issued more than 10 years ago - can I enter the EU?​

No. Some holidaymakers have been caught out at airports because their passports were issued more than 10 years ago. Up until 2018, the UK government allowed for unspent time on passports to be added to the new passport when renewing, meaning some UK passports are valid for more than 10 years.

This didn’t matter while the UK was in the EU because passports were valid up to and including the expiry date. But you will now be denied entry if your passport issue date was more than 10 years ago.
