Been through this myself a few times now, at least you seem pretty positive about it.
managed to scrape by for a few months with cash in hand handyman type jobs.
Don't expect any help from the state, Jobcentres are completely shoot and a waste of space. They're making it almost impossible to get benefits of any type now, at least for new claimants anyway, if you're on the gravy train already you're sorted, they can't seem to take it off you. Got given every excuse under the sun for them not to give me JSA, excuses that contradicted each other too. Bitter? Me? Fuk yeah.
Still, I'm working again now and earning a pretty good wedge too. Needless to say I resent paying any sort of tax now and feel absolutely no guilt from my undeclared occasional cash in hand wages whilst attempting to claim JSA. Hope it all works out for the best Smoke
