In between here and there
Riding a 2010 Specialized Roubaix, I would like to try and lower the riding position. The Roubaix has roughly 2" spacers, one is a one inch cone which I do not think I can remove but it has two half inch carbon spacers. Is it ok to remove these two and switch them to the top and see how it feels?

Can't see it effecting the steering etc.? If I like the position I then have the problem of cutting!!

Yup, just move them above. Just did this for my other half to try my old bike out.

You don't have to cut the steerer - you can leave it with the spacers above. Might even be a plus if ever you want to sell the bike to someone who needs a higher bar position.

You'll just end up with it looking more like this above the stem, but as others have said, it's perfectly fine
